June 202103 June 2021 So one minute it was May and the next it was June! The last days of May and the start of June has seen us building a new home for the chickens here at Laurie and Annette's, and just one photography outing which I will post here shortly when I have processed them. The weather is turning and Winter is here, as is the wind and the rain! He have just had a few days of rain and the rain gauge registered 130mm over three days. And with the colder weather the grape vines have begun their journey into dormancy and as such pruning will commence very soon, so all other jobs need to be done to enable the pruning to go ahead as it really is Priority One. 18 June 2021 So I have been rather slack lately in not uploading what we have been up to, so here is a quick 2 week update. We are pruning grape vines, the weather has been so wet we almost need a boat, and there is more rain and cold weather coming. We did manage a long weekend away at Norring Lake with good friends Bob and Julie which was most enjoyable. The camera also got some exercise and, I met a fellow Instagram Photographer, James Posilero who was also at the lake. Photography has been every now and then so below are the shots thus far this month.
Mt Lindsay Rolling Clouds
Taken early in the day when the light was quite bright.
My favourite of the day, the sun highlighted the tree and the colour of the lake popped in this long exposure.
Some time later nearer to sunset.
Frog Rock (on top on the right looking to the left) or Lion Face (same rock but looking to the right)?
Same shot but closer to sunset when the colours changed,
Morning light on the Karri Trees along Nekal Road.
Cool morning fog and warm sunbeams on Scotsdale Road.
Filtered morning light punching through on a cool foggy morning.
Karri's in the fog along Scotsdale Road. The weather has been rather wet, and a recent storm over two days saw the rain gauge fill with 114mm, (over 5 inches) in it, and boy is it wet under foot, so much that the grass is often floating and its like walking on jelly. Mark Twain once said "...years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do that by the things you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - and so we will. |
